CAPITAL CURLING CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING  

OCTOBER 19, 2005

 Members present:  Tom Pomonis, Roxy Howes, Jeff Bakken, Greg Hiemenz, Roger Peet, Lynn Neutz, John Kram, Brandon Leingang, Cathy Janikowski and Rita Peet.

 Minutes from the last meeting:  After corrections were made to the minutes: Greg Hiemenz was added to the members present and information about benefits of college curling to curlers was deleted. The minutes were approved with a motion from Roxy Howes and second by Jeff Bakken.

 COMMITTEE REPORTS:  

Financial Report:  After payment of the new divider board the balance today in            -$1,189.33.  Lynn has received some self payment sheets with payments.  Lynn will be sending out billings for advertising around the arena.

 House and ice:  The ice is in, tonight there are plans to bring out the rocks, lay in the logos and put down the carpet.  On October 20 the initial pebbling and scraping will take place.  Ice will be ready for the weekend.

 League:  Roxy updated the board on the leagues:  Full leagues are Mondays and Thursdays draw, Tuesday early, Wednesday late.  There are only seven teams in the Tuesday late league.  Jason Stark is looking into a Wednesday Afternoon league.

 OTHER BUSINESS:

 Curling schedule:  We will arrange to have the Am Vets reserved for Saturday,      March 25 for the end of the season banquet.

 Purchases:  1)  Wally Owens will continue to purchase the beverages and supplies for the club.  

                     2)  Roger Peet proposed the club purchasing a digital camera and some software for the web site.  He will look into the cost of these items and bring it to the next meeting.

 Newsletter:  Thanks was given to Roger Peet for all the work he put into creating the newsletter.

 Promoting the Open Houses:  Roger will contact the TV, radio and television stations about public service announcements for the open houses.  

Fund Raisers:  1)  Lynn informed the board members about pizza purchase procedure.  We will start the first night of curling and the date for ordering will be early November.

2)      John Kram brought up discussion of purchasing a TV for a raffle.  He will look into the cost of different Televisions, and potential cost of raffle tickets with an estimated profit.
