CAPITAL CURLING CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING  

December 21, 2005  

Members Present:  Jeff Bakken, Tom Pomonis,  Roger M. Peet, Rita Peet, Lynn Neutz, Brandon Leingang, Larry Brekke, John Kram, Dan Buresh and Cathy Janikowski.  

Minutes from the last meeting:  The board made the correction of $250.00 limit on the new digital camera.  A motion was made to approve the minutes by Roger and second by Cathy.  

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Financial report:  Balance as of December 21, 2005 is 20,391.34.  Discussion was held on the treasurer’s responsibility.  Discussion was also held on due payments, it was decided that this will be discussed at the annual meeting.  Lynn presented a thank you card form the Silvernagels.  The board also held some discussion on whose responsibility the merchandise sale is.  

House and ice:  Plans are to due a flood the weekend of January 7 and 8th (this will be the weekend before the state club play downs.  We will be using Culligan water for flooding.  

League:  Nothing new on league was available.

 OTHER BUSINESS:

  1)  Tom is looking into a couple of leads for a bookkeeper for the club.

   2)  TV Fund raiser:  John purchased a widescreen Sony rear projection 50 inch television for the raffle.  Tickets will go on sell soon at $10.00 for one ticket or $25.00 for three tickets.  Discussion was held on construction an area for the TV.  John made a motion that we let our carpenter use his judgment as to a design if it is approved by the Park board, Jeff second the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

 3)      Flurry Fest is scheduled for January 27 at South Port Harbor .

 4)      State Club Play downs:  The deadline date has been moved to Jan. 4.  The play downs will probably state on Thursday, January 12, 2006 .  The format will be in pool play, with Mike Kirkabe as the Head Official.  The ice committee will be responsible for the ice.

 5)      State college play downs will be held January 20-22, 2006 at our club.

 6)      Brandon informed the board that the Young Professionals would like to have curling as event on a Friday evening in January.  Brandon was going to get back to them for more information.

 7)      Bismarck State College was looking in the possibility of having curling as an enrichment class this winter.

 8)      Summer Spiel is scheduled for July 20-23.

 Jeff made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Roger seconds it.
