BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
April 13, 2005
Members Present: Mike Borr, Greg Hiemenz, Tom Pomonis, Roxanne Howes, Roger Peet, Rita Peet, Jeff Bakken, Cathy Janikowski, Lynn Neutz, Dave Clemmons
Minutes of last meeting: Minutes of the March 15, 2005 board meeting were distributed. There was a motion by Tom Pomonis, seconded by Greg Hiemenz to approve the minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
Financial Report: As of April 13, 2005, net income was -$1,206 for this fiscal year. Mike Borr reported that the loss for the year would be about $1,000 after collection of outstanding bills. The Junior National Tournament, Club Merchandising, and Junior Instructional League operated at a loss for the fiscal year. The balance in the club's checking and savings accounts was $32,863.53 as of April 5, 2005.
House and Ice: We may need more deionized water if six sheets are put in for the summerspiel. There was a brief discussion concerning whether we should continue with Jet Ice as the vendor, or switch to Culligan. There was a motion by Roger Peet, seconded by Greg Hiemenz to continue with Jet Ice. The motion passed.
The scraper loan to the Rapid City club for their first bonspiel worked out fine. Rapid City will pay to refurbish the blade.
League: All existing leagues are expected to be full next year. Club members interested in organizing a new league should contact a member of the league committee (Roxanne Howes, Larry Brekke, or Dave Clemmons).
Officer Nominations: The following individuals volunteered to serve as club officers:
President: Tom Pomonis (motion Rita Peet, second Jeff Bakken)
Vice President: Roger Peet (motion Mike Borr, second Tom Pomonis)
Treasurer: Mike Borr (motion Tom Pomonis, second Dave Clemmons)
Secretary: Rita Peet (motion Tom Pomonis, second Dave Clemmons)
All were unanimously approved by the board. Mike Borr indicated that he may be moving to Fargo. Lynn Neutz agreed to assist Mike in the Treasurer position.
Liability Insurance: Tom Pomonis made a motion, seconded by Roger Peet to purchase liability insurance for board members. The motion passed unanimously. Roxanne will get quotes from two insurance agents.
Committee Assignments: The following individuals agreed to serve on club committees:
Finance: Mike Borr, Lynn Neutz
House and Ice: Greg Hiemenz, Jeff Bakken
Advertizing and Promotions: Roger Peet, Brandon Leingang
Membership and League: Roxanne Howes, Larry Brekke, Dave Clemmons
Special Events: Rita Peet, Cathy Janikowski
Instructor's Clinic: There will be a USCA Level 1 instructors clinic in Bismarck on July 13.
