CAPITAL CURLING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING

March 20, 2004

Members Present:  Mike Borr, Tom Pomonis, Roger Smith, Tim Brosz, Rita Becker, Mary Gervais, Dave Clemmons, Mike Ell, Roxanne Howes, Wally Owen, Roger M. Peet, Numerous members.

Mike Borr called the meeting to order.  Wally Owen presented a brief financial report.   Mike B. gave a summary of the past year’s events.  He talked about the new rocks and the membership increase. 

Roger Smith talked a little about the leagues this past season and introduced the league captains.  They presented the league awards to all the teams. 

Mike Borr recognized departing board members:  Mary Gervais, Tim Brosz, Wally Owen and himself.   Mike gave special mention to Wally Owen, who will be leaving the board after numerous years as the treasurer.  He received a standing ovation.  Mike Borr introduced all the current board members in attendance at the annual meeting. 

Mike Borr introduced the new board members that were nominated for next year:  Larry Brekke, Greg Hiemenz, Cathy Janikowski and Mike Borr.  Jon Mielke made a motion that nominations cease and the board members elected.  This was seconded by Robin Hendrickson.  New board members were voted in unanimously.

Mike Borr wrapped up the meeting talking about the forecast for next year including the Summerspiel and Brat Stand.  He then introduced Tom Pomonis to talk about the Jr. Nationals.

Tom P. talked a little about the Jr. Nationals, the CCC will be hosting in January 29 - February 5, 2005.  The Ramkota will be the host hotel.  The program will be published by the Bismarck Tribune.  Tom is looking for someone to help out with the accounting for Jr. Nationals.  Wally Owen may be a possibility. 

Roger Smith presented a plaque of appreciation to current President, Mike Borr, for all of his hard work and dedication the past year.
