BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
November
5, 2003
Members
Present: Tom Pomonis, Mike Borr, Roxy Howe, Roger Smith, Rita Becker,
Mary Gervais, Wally Owen, Roger M. Peet, Scott McLeod
Old
Business: Mike Borr indicated that CCC was given official
notice, they will be hosting the 2005 Jr. Nationals. Tom Pomonis will be the chairman.
Financial
Report: Wally gave the financial report.
He indicated that all the bills for the Early Bird Spiel have been paid,
except $250 to the growler guys, for grilling the chickens.
He also indicated that we have $509 more in the bank than we have on our
financial report.
A
motion was made by Roger Smith to accept the financial report.
This was seconded by Rita Becker and passed unanimously.

Committee Report: No report
Ice/Building
Committee Report:
The main purpose of this board meeting was to discuss our ice
maintenance. Mike Borr suggested
that some ice maintenance clinics be run. Some
basic and advanced clinics. The
basic clinics would be for league captains, skips and any other interested
people. These clinics would demonstrate the proper procedures to
prepare the ice for league play. The
advanced clinics would demonstrate the procedures followed for a scrape.
It
was decided to run a basic clinics on November 14th and 21st
and 10:00 am. Mike Borr will put a
sign up in the club room about this. Roger
Smith will email league captains, who are to contact all skips about the
clinics. Those interested in the
advanced clinics are to contact Mike Borr or Steve Stelton.
There
was discussion on the Shoe Policy, particularly, the high school classes.
Tom Pomonis indicated he would talk to the high schools about this.
Special
Events Report: The Early Bird Spiel netted $120. The Junior Clinic and Thin Ice Bonspiel netted about $400.
A
mixer will be held with the Rushmore Curling Club on the weekend of 11-14-03.
This will be announced to all teams on league nights and a sign up sheet
will be posted in the club room.
