CAPITAL CURLING CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

February 27, 2002

Board Members in attendance: Club president Roger Smith, Jim Streifel, Mike Borr, Jon Mielke, Wally Owen, Mary Gervaise, Tom Pomonis, Tim Brosz.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written.

Financial Report: Wally reviewed the budget report for the annual meeting.  The monthly report showed a balance of $18,552.51 and a 163.43 error which was reconciled.  Wally also reported that he did not think that the fiscal year needed to be changed.

League Report  A Friday night beginners league started.  Little Rocks was finishing up.  Thanks to Roger Peet for heading up the program.  We will try to get a junior league started next year.  The usual complaints were heard about nine team leagues.

Web page Report. League outcomes will be posted.  A summer spiel update will be on the web.

Worlds report: There are some complaints about the exchange rate.  There are more volunteers needed. 

New board members: The nominating committee has asked Roger Peet, Scott Mcload, Mike Ell and Tom Pomonis (a second term)  to be considered for election at the annual meeting.

Those continuing their terms are Roger Smith, Jim Streifel, Tim Brosz, Mary Gervaise, Jon Mielke, Wally Owen, Mike Borr, and Tom Marple?

Summer spiel report: Mike Borr and Dan Buresh will be in charge of the event.  It will be held July 18-21. May need to keep the ice in for a Phys. Ed. Teacher clinic.

Pin report: nochange.

The annual meeting will be held March 2,  Roger will give a report.  Wally will get the food (smoked turkey) etc. and the beer.
