BUSINESS:
Summer Spiel Report: Dave Jensen presented a summer
spiel update. The summer spiel
is scheduled for July 19-22. There
are 45 teams presently registered. Dave
reported that the riverboat ride scheduled for July 20 is full.
More teams will be signed up but will not be guaranteed a ride on the
riverboat. It may be prefered
if more club teams signed up since they would not ride the boat anyway.
Dave would like to increase the registration to more than 48 teams.
It may cause problems with draw sceduling, but will be looked into.
The club has received deposits from most of the out of town teams.
Steve Stelton will check if
Wright Ice is coming.
Jon Mielke notified USCA that
ice would be available for summer clinics.
VFW will provide the concessions.
Roger Pete may provide musical
entertainment. Steve Stelton
will ask him.
A summer spiel committee
meeting will be scheduled for mid June.
Bratwurst stand: The BAGA Event will be Aug. 4,5.
The Club will again have a brat stand.
BAGA will charge a $50.00 insurance fee, and a $50.00 clean up
deposit. Steve Stelton, Mary
Gervais, and Wally Owen volunteered to be in charge.
World’s report: Jon Mielke reported that at least
1000 tickets have been sold. Tour
operators are now reserving rooms and buying tickets.
Concentration now is on raising revenue (corporate sponsors, sale
items, etc.). Committees will
now get into full gear with their areas of responsibility.
Pin design is now in the works.
Capital improvements: Wally reported that $4975.00
in matching grant funds is now available for the planned capital
improvements. John Mielke
suggested that a committee be organized to oversee the projects.
Dave Jensen, Steve Stelton, and Wally Owen will be on that committee.
NEW
BUSINESS:
The State curling association will hold their
